Blackjack Tips
Blackjack is a card game where the player’s aim to get the value of his hand as close to 21 as possible and to keep it above the value of the dealer’s hand. There are tips and strategies which can be employed to ensure that you have a better chance of winning the game.
While playing the game, players resort to various actions such as ‘hit’, ‘double’, ‘stand’ and ‘split’. Players who have a hard hand and get eight or less should always hit. Similarly, a hand with a value of nine should double if the dealer has three to six, otherwise hit. The same rule applies if your hand has ten while the dealer has two to nine.
If the value of your hand is 11 and the dealer has two to ten, you should double, but you should hit if the dealer has Ace. For a hard hand valued at 12 with the dealer having two or three, the player should hit; player should stand if the dealer has four to six, and in all other cases should hit. When the player’s hand is between 13 -16, they should stand if the dealer has two to six, and hit in all other cases. For hands valued between 17 -21, players should always stand.
Soft hands are easy to play as the ace has two values, either of which can be used. When the player has ace 2 or ace 3, they should double if the dealer has five or six, otherwise hit. Similarly when the player has ace 4 or ace 5 and the dealer has four to six, then the player should double, and hit in all other cases.
While playing blackjack you should always split a pair of aces and a pair of 8s. Players should always stand on 17 and up and always double on 11.
